CX Re Final Claims Bar Date – July 21, 2025

Creditors of CX Re Insurance Company Limited (formerly CNA Reinsurance of London Limited) approved the scheme of arrangement at the December 12, 2024 creditors meeting. The scheme was sanctioned by the court and became effective on January 20, 2025. Therefore, the final claims submission deadline is July 21, 2025. All direct creditors (insureds) of CX Re must file the claims and supporting documentation by the deadline to participate in payouts from the estate.

Since the scheme creditors meeting in December, CX Re has promulgated more information regarding surplus lines policies and a separate trust that may be available to pay claims for certain creditors. There is a separate claims submission form for surplus lines policies and the amended scheme documents describe the types of policies that might qualify.

CX Reinsurance Company Limited, formerly CNA Reinsurance of London Limited, wrote business through the London Market beginning in 1972 until 2001. CX Re was declared insolvent and placed under administration on August 17, 2020.
